SAIL institutions join the ELLIS Network as part of the new ELLIS Unit NRW!

🙌 We are proud to share that our universities in OWL are now part of the ELLIS network and one of only seven newly approved ELLIS Units in Europe! ELLIS (European Laboratory for Learning and Intelligent Systems) is a pan-European network of excellence connecting top AI researchers and institutions to secure Europe’s lasting leadership in AI research.

🤝 The newly established ELLIS Unit NRW is the first and so far only ELLIS Unit to unite the research strength of an entire German federal state, bringing together leading institutions from across North Rhine-Westphalia into a world-class ecosystem for open, trustworthy, and high-impact AI research.
