Using AI to fight water waste

🚰Water loss through leaking drinking water pipes is a much bigger problem than many people realize: around 10% of drinking water is lost in Germany, and in some European countries even up to 40%.

🎙️ In a recent interview on WDR5 Morgenecho, Prof. Barbara Hammer talks to host Tobias Strauß about how AI can help detect and prevent water leaks. By using sensors and machine learning methods, changes in water pressure can be analyzed to predict leaks early – before large amounts of water are wasted. A great example of how AI can contribute to sustainability and critical infrastructure.
