The project “Resistance to AI in healthcare” investigates the acceptance of AI-based medical services/ technologies from the users’ perspective using behavioural methods (eye-tracking experiments, conjoint experiments). In the project, we are addressing the question of why patients, despite their awareness of the superiority of AI in (some) medical services, show a rather hesitant uptake and resistant attitude towards the use of AI-based medical services/ technologies. Further, we explore factors that can enhance patient acceptance for a successful implementation of AI-based medical services/ technologies in healthcare.
